Job Title: Tour Operator & Experiences Lead

About the Role
Come Travel Kenya is looking for an experienced safari professional. You’ll be involved across the full journey, from designing itineraries to working directly with clients with the autonomy to shape how the department grows.

What You’ll Do
Safari & Tour Operations
- Design bespoke safari itineraries and experience packages that balance client aspirations with commercial realities
- Manage bookings end-to-end: from first enquiry through to post-trip follow-up
- Handle all costing and quoting, maintaining healthy margins while staying competitive.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with lodges, guides, and ground operators across Kenya
Client & Supplier Management
- Act as the primary contact for high-value client enquiries
- Negotiate preferred rates and exclusive arrangements with key suppliers
- Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally, protecting CTK’s reputation
Department Leadership
- Run the Tours & Safaris function with a high degree of independence — you own your results
- Develop internal processes, templates, and SOPs that help the department scale
- Contribute expertise to marketing efforts: destination knowledge, itinerary highlights, campaign input
AI & Digital Efficiency
- Use AI tools to speed up itinerary creation, client communications, and research
- Identify and implement digital efficiencies that allow the department to grow without proportional cost increases
What We’re Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Travel, or a related field
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in tour operations or safari management, ideally within Kenya or East Africa
- Strong commercial instincts – you understand margins, upsells, and revenue growth
- Excellent communicator who can sell an experience, not just a price
- Comfortable with digital tools and genuinely curious about AI-powered productivity.
- Self-starter who takes accountability and doesn’t need hand-holding
- Works well under pressure, solutions-focused when things go wrong
Probation & Growth
- 3-month probation with clear KPIs.
- Performance reviews at 3 and 6 months with a structured growth path.
