Tax Associate Job The Jitu
As a Tax Associate, you will support the organization’s tax compliance, reporting, planning, and advisory functions across local and international operations. You will work closely with Finance and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with tax regulations, optimize tax positions, support audits, and identify opportunities for tax efficiency and value creation.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical tax knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and experience handling multi-jurisdictional tax matters in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and review corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, PAYE, and other statutory tax filings.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax computations and reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and maintenance of tax records.
- Assist with tax audits, regulatory reviews, and tax authority engagements.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Identify tax-saving opportunities, incentives, exemptions, and refunds.
- Support tax-efficient structuring of transactions, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
- Conduct tax research and provide recommendations on complex tax matters.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise on business impact.
Stakeholder Management & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and external advisors on tax-related matters.
- Support compliance for international and offshore entities.
- Prepare tax updates, reports, and presentations for management.
- Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, and tax training initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- International certification such as ACCA, CTA, ADIT, or equivalent, is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of tax experience, preferably within a consulting firm, multinational company, or public accounting firm.
- Experience handling international and multi-jurisdictional tax matters is an added advantage.
- Proven experience managing tax audits, disputes, and engagements with revenue authorities.
- Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws, IFRS, and international tax principles.
- Experience using tax and accounting systems such as CCH Axcess, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms is an added advantage.
