Spez Catering Limited is looking for a seasoned Sous Chef to join our team in Nairobi. We’re looking for someone with strong kitchen leadership, solid technical skills, and at least four years of experience in the hospitality industry.

  • Oversee daily food preparation and maintain consistent quality and presentation
  • Supervise kitchen staff, guide junior cooks, and support ongoing training
  • Work with the Head Chef on menu planning, specials, and seasonal updates
  • Manage stock levels, handle ordering, and track inventory to reduce waste
  • Maintain all food safety standards and ensure documentation is up to date
  • Support with costing, portion control, and meeting kitchen profitability goals
  • Step in for the Head Chef when needed to keep service moving smoothly
  • Minimum four years of experience in a professional hospitality kitchen
  • Formal culinary certificate, diploma, or equivalent training
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
  • Solid understanding of HACCP or other food safety systems
  • Proven experience supervising a team in a busy environment
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Menu development or costing experience is an added advantage
