We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, accuracy, and leadership capability.

  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and financial reporting processes
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring full compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal reporting requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory obligations, including timely preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and other statutory filings
  • Manage and perform bank reconciliations, supplier and customer reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved promptly
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation, ensuring proper audit trails and adherence to internal controls
  • Support and lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including preparation of budgets, monitoring performance against budgets, and conducting variance analysis
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to management to support decision-making, including cost analysis, revenue trends, and profitability assessments
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring optimal utilization of funds and maintaining adequate liquidity for operational needs
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Supervise, guide, and review the work of junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities on financial and compliance matters
  • Ensure proper asset management and tracking, including maintaining fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and periodic asset verification
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments while maintaining strong cash management practices
  • Identify financial risks and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity
  • Support payroll validation processes by reviewing payroll reports, statutory deductions, and ensuring alignment with financial records
  • Prepare and present management reports and financial summaries to senior leadership, highlighting key financial performance indicators and areas of concern
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records for compliance, audit readiness, and ease of retrieval
  • Perform any other finance and accounting-related duties as may be assigned from time to time in line with the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and accountability
