Principal Wildlife Officer, CSG ‘8’ Job. Administration Jobs In Kenya

Salary Scale – Ksh. 52,330 p.m – ksh.96,130 p.m
House Allowance – Ksh. 35,000 Per Month
Commuter Allowance – Ksh. 8,000 Per Month
Leave Allowance – Ksh. 6,000 Per Month (paid once a year)

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties at this level entail:-

  • Verifying the compliance on the conservation and management of wildlife resources countrywide.
  • Reviewing the performance of stakeholders in the wildlife sector as prescribed in management plans.
  • Developing the implementation of National wildlife conservation and Management Strategies.
  • Coordinate monitoring and evaluating trends on the levels of wildlife compensation.
  • Evaluating effectiveness of wildlife compensation as a management tool in conservation

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

  • Served as a Senior Wildlife Officer, CSG ‘9’ or in a comparable and relevant position for a minimum period of (3) years in the public service;
  • Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Wildlife Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Conservation and Natural Resource Management, Environmental Conservation, Environmental Resource Conservation, Environmental Education, Environmental Management and Conservation, Environmental Studies and Community Resource Conservation, Bio Resource Conservation and Management, Botany, Climate Change and Development, Forestry, Coastal and Marine Resource Management, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Marine Resource Management, Natural Resource Management, Zoology or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks and Certificate in Computer Applications skills from a recognized institution will be an added advantage; and
  • Demonstrate ability and merit as reflected in work performance and results
