Medical Specialist I (Orthopedic Surgeon) Job Nyamira CPSB

Responsible for providing specialised orthopaedic care, diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, performing surgeries, managing trauma cases, and supervising clinical teams. Requires an MBChB degree, Master’s degree in Orthopaedic Surgery, professional registration, a valid practising licence, and relevant experience. The position is based in Nyamira and requires on-site work.

Qualifications

• Be a Kenyan citizen
• A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a university recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists council.
• A Master of medicine in orthopedic surgery from a university recognized by Kenya medical practitioners and dentists Council.
• A Registration Certificate by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• A Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• Specialist Recognition Certificate from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists council
• Shown outstanding professional competence and administrative capacity and initiative in the general organization and management of the patients in the area of specialization.
• Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and evaluate patient medical histories.
• Interpret X-rays, MRIs, and blood tests to identify injuries, degenerative diseases, or congenital deformities.
• Develop customized, patient-centric treatment plans balancing nonsurgical interventions with surgical options.
• Perform operative procedures, this may involve arthroscopy, joint reconstruction, spinal surgery, or trauma surgery following accidents.
• Monitor patient recovery in the hospital and during follow-up clinic visits.
• Work closely with physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists to ensure proper healing and restoration of function.
• Training, supervising and mentoring medical officers (intern) and other students.
