Sales & Marketing Jobs, Jumia Jobs. Longtail Associate manages seller operations and tracks vendor success metrics, requires a Business Degree and 4+ years e-commerce experience. Full-time role in Nairobi.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Incubation phase for all newly acquired sellers ensuring they reach their first sales within their first 30 days on the platform.
- Oversee the Long-tail segment, thousands of small-scale sellers using automated tools, mass communication (Email/SMS/WhatsApp), and scalable support systems.
- Manage a team of Incubation Associates and Longtail account managers, setting clear KPIs for seller activation and retention.
- Drive the adoption of Jumia growth tools (Sponsored Products, Jumia Express) specifically among smaller vendors to boost their visibility.
- Track New Seller Success Rate and Churn Rate using PowerBI and internal dashboards to identify bottlenecks in the seller journey.
- Improve the self-service capabilities of the platform to reduce the need for manual intervention for Longtail sellers
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in e-commerce, operations management, or mass-market business development.
- Proven experience in managing large teams and high-volume operations where automation is key.
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university.
- Analytical Rigor: Ability to manage large data sets in Excel and interpret PowerBI dashboards to drive strategy.
- A “Growth Mindset”: Passionate about empowering small businesses and leveraging technology to scale operations.
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to simplify complex processes for non-technical sellers
