Position: Fresh Goods Delivery Driver
Location: Nairobi, Industrial Area
Job Type: Full-time
Reports To: Logistics/Operations Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and punctual Fresh Goods Delivery Driver to transport perishable goods safely and efficiently to our customers and retail locations. The ideal candidate is familiar with local routes, committed to customer service, and understands the importance of handling and delivering fresh items with care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport fresh goods to assigned destinations.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring all items are handled with care to maintain freshness and quality.
- Follow assigned delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
- Inspect vehicles daily and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Verify delivery contents with delivery paperwork and obtain customer signatures as needed.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and handling standards at all times.
- Communicate with dispatch and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when required.
Qualifications:
- KCSE/Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably handling fresh or perishable goods will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Ability to lift and move up goods.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Working Conditions
- Early morning shifts and weekend availability may be required.
- Exposure to refrigerated environments and outdoor conditions.
- Frequent lifting, bending, and long periods of driving.
