Job Summary

Rock Advisors is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of its various business units. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing financial functions in a fast paced environment, with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership Reporting

• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, cash flow reconciliations, and performance reports (including KPIs, project updates, and variance analysis) to support informed decision- making and effective liquidity management.

Policy Development:

• Develop and implement financial policies that align with the company’s long term business objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.

Risk Management:

• Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure financial stability.

Financial Planning and Analysis Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Lead the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
• Performance Analysis: Partner with business unit leaders to analyze financial performance, identify trends and recommend areas for improvement.

Cost Management:

• Develop cost optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability across all business units.

Operational Financial Management

Financial Reporting

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all business units, maintaining transparency and compliance with accounting standards.

Cash Management

• Oversee cash flow and working capital to safeguard liquidity and maintain the company’s financial health.
• Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
• Lead the preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and regulatory reports while keeping current with changes in laws and advising management on implications.

Internal Controls & Audit

• Establish and maintain robust internal controls, supporting internal and external audits by preparing documentation, addressing queries, and implementing recommendations.

Performance and People Management

• Oversee the performance of the finance team through setting clear objectives, regular monitoring and appraisals, while mentoring and developing staff to build capacity and create a well-rounded, high performing team that supports the company’s objectives.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA (mandatory).
• A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in finance or accounting, withat least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Kenyan tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting within a fast-paced, multi-business environment.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
