Board of Management, Kenya Institute for the Blind seeks a qualified and experienced Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a motor vehicle, maintaining the vehicle’s upkeep, and ensuring the safety of passengers and goods.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of D+ or equivalent.
- Valid Class BCE Driving License free from endorsements.
- Passed Suitability Test for drivers (Grade 1) from a recognized institution.
- First-Aid Certificate Course (minimum 1 week) from a recognized institution.
- Practical Test certificate from a recognized institution.
- Valid PSV and Defense Driving Certificate from AA Kenya or equivalent.
- Certificate of Good Conduct.
- 3+ years of driving experience.
- Good knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive a motor vehicle as authorized
- Perform routine checks on the vehicle’s systems (cooling, oil, electrical, brake, tire pressure, etc.)
- Ensure routine service and maintenance of the vehicle
- Detect and report any malfunctions
- Maintain work tickets and records
- Ensure vehicle security and safety on and off the road
- Safeguard passengers and goods
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Monitor deadlines for vehicle inspection and insurance
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
- Report incidents to the police and office
- Prepare periodic vehicle performance reports.
REMUNERATION (KSH):
- Basic salary – 28,620
- House Allowance: 6,750
- Commuter Allowance – 4,000
- Annual Leave Allowance (Paid once in a year) – 4,000
This is subject to statutory deductions.
