Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and petty cash management.
- Review and authorize payment vouchers and ensure completeness of supporting documentation.
- Oversee accurate posting of invoices, receipts, and payments into the accounting system.
- Prepare and review supplier statements and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Maintain and review cashbooks and support daily cash position monitoring.
- Perform and review weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Monitor invoicing, collections, and customer account balances.
- Prepare monthly expense schedules, summaries, and management reports.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT and other applicable taxes.
- Maintain proper filing and archiving of financial documents.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls and procedures
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior finance staff.
- Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders as required.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to work with minimal supervision.
