A-Level Mathematics Teacher – IGCSE / IAL Job

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will join an international school based in Eldoret and will be responsible for teaching IGCSE and International A Level (IAL) Mathematics, preparing students for external examinations, and supporting them to develop strong mathematical reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons for IGCSE and IAL students.
- Teach and effectively cover the relevant Cambridge International and/or Pearson Edexcel curriculum.
- Prepare students for external examinations through structured revision and examination-focused teaching.
- Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and implement interventions where necessary.
- Develop students’ analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning skills.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, and learning resources.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental and school-wide activities.
- Stay updated on curriculum developments, assessment practices, and effective Mathematics teaching methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, Statistics, or a related field.
- Recognised teacher training qualification.
- Demonstrable experience teaching Mathematics at secondary/high-school level.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience teaching IGCSE and International A Level Mathematics.
- Experience preparing students for external examinations.
- Experience with Cambridge International and/or Pearson Edexcel curricula.
Added Advantage
- Experience teaching Further Mathematics.
- Cambridge International or Pearson Edexcel professional development experience.
- Previous experience as a Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel examiner.
- Experience working in an international-school environment.
