About the Role:

Power Group Technologies is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and creating mechanical designs for LV panels and related products, ensuring designs are practical, efficient, and aligned with production requirements.

  • Develop and create mechanical designs for LV panels and related systems.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings and fabrication layouts.
  • Select appropriate materials and components based on design requirements.
  • Interpret electrical layouts and translate them into mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with electrical designers, technicians, and production teams to ensure design feasibility.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) and material specifications.
  • Update and revise designs based on testing, feedback, or production constraints.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Identify and implement design improvements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support fabrication planning, machine setup, and production workflow optimization.
  • Participate in material nesting and sheet metal utilization improvement.
  • Support workshop teams in fabrication troubleshooting and quality improvements.
  • Assist in cost reduction initiatives through design optimization.
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, preferably in LV panel manufacturing or similar products.
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical layouts and integrate them into mechanical designs.
  • Practical understanding of LV panel assembly (mechanical aspects).
  • Experience in BOM generation and material specification.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Experience in production engineering and fabrication process improvement is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to CNC, bending, punching, and workshop operations is preferred.
  • Ability to support machine setup and workflow design will be an added advantage.
