The position works closely with the Manager and the Assistant Manager Legal and External Affairs to ensure efficient delivery of governance, compliance, and external engagement priorities across the business.

Legal and Regulatory Support

  • Assist in monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements across the business.
  • Support in legal and regulatory research and prepare summaries for internal use.
  • Help track regulatory filings, licenses, and compliance obligations for all the Acorn entities.
  • Assist in maintaining records of legal documents, contracts, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Support the coordination of responses to regulatory or legal requests under supervision.

Corporate Governance and Company Secretarial

  • Assist in preparing materials for board meetings and AGMs, including drafting meeting agendas and tracking calendar items.
  • Support the coordination and timely distribution of board papers and other documentation.
  • Help ensure that board procedures are followed and assist in reviewing relevant governance documents.
  • Record and compile board and committee resolutions and follow up on action items with relevant teams.
  • Support the maintenance of corporate records and registers across Acorn and its affiliated entities.
  • Assist in the filing of statutory returns, declarations, and other company secretarial documentation under guidance.
  • Liaise with outsourced company secretarial service providers and registrars under supervision.

Policy, Advocacy & External Affairs

  • Assist in conducting research on policy, legislative, and regulatory developments relevant to the business.
  • Support preparation of briefs, summaries, and presentations on policy and advocacy matters.
  • Assist in tracking stakeholder engagements, meetings, and key outcomes.
  • Support coordination of engagements with regulators, industry bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Help maintain records of stakeholder interactions and advocacy initiatives.

Administration

  • Support scheduling and coordination of internal and external meetings with follow up on action items.
  • Assist in preparing correspondence and communication to varous stakeholders.
  • Maintain stakeholder contact lists and engagement trackers.
  • Assist in compiling annual plans and progress reports. Maintain corporate affairs records, databases, and tracking tools as assigned.
  • Perform other general administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the team.
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree, obtained within the past two (2) years, in Law, Business Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Progress toward professional certification such as Certified Secretary (CS) is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance principles.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
