Looking for an entry-level HR job in Kenya? Kenya Builders & Concrete Co. Ltd is hiring an HR Clerk skilled in personnel file maintenance, employee attendance tracking, payroll support, and HR data entry.

Job Purpose

To provide administrative and clerical support to the HR department, maintaining accurate employee records, assisting with data entry, and supporting day-to-day HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personnel File Management: Set up, organize, and maintain up-to-date physical and digital employee files, ensuring strict confidentiality.
  • Data Entry & Tracking: Update employee records on the HR system, tracking daily attendance, leave management, and statutory deduction details (NHIF/SHIF, NSSF, KRA).
  • Recruitment Support: Sort incoming job applications, coordinate interview schedules, and assist in preparing onboarding packets for new hires.
  • Time & Attendance: Collect, verify, and compile manual or biometric attendance logs from various plant and quarry sites for payroll processing.
  • General Administration: Draft standard HR letters, memos, and certificates, and handle routine employee inquiries regarding HR policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
  • Registered member of IHRM (Institute of Human Resource Management) is an added advantage.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an HR administrative or clerical role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic HRIS or payroll systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, discretion, and strong communication abilities in English and Kiswahili.
