Graduate Process Engineers Job Gulf Energy

Engineering Jobs. Gulf Energy Jobs

Job Summary

Support safe and efficient operation of the oil processing facility by assisting with process monitoring, production optimisation, routine testing, troubleshooting and maintenance coordination. Develop practical process engineering skills through supervised involvement in daily operations, incident response and continuous improvement activities.

  • Support process monitoring and plant rounds: record and QA process parameters (flows, pressures, temperatures, levels) and flag deviations for follow-up.
  • Assist with start-up, shutdown and normal operating procedures; follow permit-to-work and isolation/LOTO requirements during process activities.
  • Help prepare and review basic workpacks, method statements and risk assessments for process tasks under supervision.
  • Support production testing (flow checks, sampler operations, separation efficiency checks) and ensure accurate data capture for reporting.
  • Assist in troubleshooting routine process issues (emulsion, carryover, low separation efficiency, level control) and implement supervised corrective actions.
  • Contribute to preventive maintenance execution by coordinating with maintenance teams, raising work orders and verifying post-work reinstatement.
  • Support chemical management: dosing systems, inventory checks, safe handling and record keeping for process chemicals.
  • Assist in routine sampling and basic laboratory tests (water in oil, BS&W, density) and ensure samples are correctly labelled and logged.
  • Maintain and update process documentation: P&IDs, process data logs, SOPs and shift handover notes.
  • Participate in HAZID/HAZOP, toolbox talks, incident investigations and implement corrective action tracking as required.
  • Support small process improvement initiatives and trials (e.g., separation optimisation, chemical trials) and capture lessons learned.
  • Undertake on-the-job training and competency development; provide clear handovers between shifts and to senior engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Petroleum or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 0-2 years’ relevant experience; internships, industrial placements or thesis work in processing/plant operations advantageous
