The salary for the role is Ksh 80,000 – 100,000 monthly. Proficiency in construction management, project coordination, and contractor supervision is required.

Our client, a growing construction and real estate development company, is seeking to hire a skilled, detail-oriented, and technically competent Technical Projects Officer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee site activities, coordinate contractors and consultants, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in construction management, excellent project coordination skills, and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced project environment.

  • Project Coordination & Supervision – Coordinate and supervise external contractors, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth execution of construction projects.
  • Site Monitoring & Quality Control – Monitor daily site activities, construction progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with approved designs, standards, and specifications.
  • Project Planning & Implementation Support – Assist in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution of construction activities in line with project timelines.
  • Technical Reporting & Documentation – Prepare and maintain accurate project reports, site records, progress updates, and technical documentation for management review.
  • Contractor & Supplier Management – Support contractor onboarding, performance monitoring, and coordination with suppliers and service providers involved in project delivery.
  • Costing & Budget Monitoring Support – Assist in tracking project costs, reviewing expenditure, and supporting budget compliance in collaboration with finance teams.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Approvals – Coordinate acquisition of necessary permits, approvals, and ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Coordination – Liaise with engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, and other technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on project deliverables.
  • Risk & Issue Management – Identify potential project risks, delays, or technical issues and escalate them with recommended corrective actions.
  • Technical Advisory Support – Provide technical input to management on project feasibility, resource needs, staffing requirements, and operational expansion plans.
  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, construction management, building technology, quantity surveying, project supervision, contractor management, or related engineering fields.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, site management, and project lifecycle delivery.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, building codes, and safety compliance requirements.
  • Strong project planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
