Job Purpose
The System Administrator is a member of the team that operates and maintains KeNIC systems and infrastructure.
Their focus is on application development and deployment; system and network administration of robust high-performance and scalable infrastructure.
Main Duties/Key Accountabilities
- Supports maintenance of technical systems including ensuring uptime, security and ongoing update/upgrades for improvement.
- Provides technical support using available ticket system and/or phone call support for all technical issues both internal and external.
- Builds and maintains documentation of all KeNIC systems and infrastructure plus assist in creating user manuals.
- Monitors system(s) performance, troubleshooting issues and submits regular reports on the same.
- Back up data consistently and test restore procedures
- Develop recovery plans for outages or cyberattacks
Responsibilities
- Maintains all critical KeNIC software applications and infrastructure systems by installing and configuring software, hardware and networks ensuring uptime, security and utilization of new technologies.
- Owns projects as assigned by the Technology, Information and Security Manager, creates workplan and manages deliverables as per project scope.
- Supports the Technology, Information and Security Manager in development of strategic initiatives and budget forecasting to support business growth.
- Develops expertise and trains technical staff on existing and new technologies for KeNIC systems.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Manages infrastructure equipment maintenance and tracking the maintenance schedule
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Any other duty as assigned by department head.
Education and Experience
- Diploma in IT, computer science or any other IT related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an IT field
- Any Other certificates in IT courses
