Sr Ass Director Ophthalmology Job Machakos CPSB, Machakos, Kenya
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting detailed assessments of the visual system to determine the health of the eye and surrounding structures.
- Diagnosing and treating eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts and eye infections using medication.
- Performing surgeries for cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors (LASIK), corneal issues and retina disorders.
- Managing traumatic eye injuries and providing acute, urgent care.
- Evaluating patients’ suitability for surgery and monitoring recovery afterward.
- Prescribing glasses and contact lenses to correct vision impairment.
- Ordering and interpreting advanced imaging and tests, such as optical coherence tomography (OCT) or visual field tests.
Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Master’s degree in Ophthalmology.
- Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
