Sr Ass Director- Periodontologist Job Machakos CPSB, Machakos, Kenya
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assessing gum health by measuring periodontal pocket depths, evaluating bone loss through X-rays and assessing tooth mobility.
- Creating customized treatment plans for gingivitis and advanced periodontitis.
- Performing deep scaling and root planning to remove plaque and tartar below the gum line.
- Performing pocket reduction surgery, gum grafts to cover exposed roots, frenectomies and regeneration procedures for bone/tissue.
- Specialized, precise placement of dental implants to replace missing teeth and treating peri-implantitis.
- Instructing patients on proper oral hygiene techniques (flossing and brushing) and personalized care to maintain gum health.
- Evaluating systemic health conditions (e.g., diabetes and heart disease) that affect periodontal health.
Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (DS) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Master’s degree of Dental Surgery in Periodontology.
- Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
