Role Description
Silicon Xchange is seeking a talented Software Engineer to help build and maintain the digital platform that powers our growing innovation ecosystem. In this role, you will work closely with the founding team to design, develop, and improve core platform features that connect founders, investors, operators, and institutions across Silicon Valley and Africa.
As part of a small and collaborative team, you will contribute directly to shaping the technical foundation of the Silicon Xchange platform. Your work will involve developing new product features, improving system performance, and ensuring the platform remains scalable and reliable as the community continues to grow.
You will play a key role in translating product ideas into functional solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver user-focused features that enhance engagement across the ecosystem. This position offers an opportunity to work on a mission-driven platform at an early stage, where your contributions will have a direct impact on how the product evolves and how the global innovation community connects and collaborates.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building products in fast-paced startup environments, takes ownership of their work, and is excited about using technology to enable collaboration across global tech ecosystems.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship features for the Silicon Xchange platform
- Develop and maintain APIs and backend services
- Improve platform performance and reliability
- Support integrations with external tools and services
- Work with leadership to prioritize new product features
Requirements
- Experience building web applications
- Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript or Python
- Familiarity with modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Django, etc.)
- Experience working with APIs and databases
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Interest in startups and building new products
