Job Summary:
- The Social Media Strategist will be a digitally savvy creative with exceptional editorial decisionmaking skills, critical in a best-in-class media house. You will have a keen eye for emerging local and international trends in social media, news, and entertainment sharing to meet the needs of diverse audiences. You must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be a creative problem-solver with a media disruptor mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Objectives
- Create comprehensive social media strategies aligned with overall marketing and business goals.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify brand awareness trends.
- Develop platform-specific content strategies for Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and other emerging platforms.
- Define target audience personas and craft tailored messaging approaches.
Daily Activities
- Collaborate with creative teams to produce engaging visual and written content.
- Oversee community management and audience engagement initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics and KPIs.
- Generate regular reports on campaign performance, audience growth, and engagement rates.
- Use data insights to optimize content strategy and improve campaign effectiveness.
- Track ROI and demonstrate the business impact of social media efforts.
- Ensure brand voice consistency across all social media touchpoints.
- Plan and execute social media campaigns for product launches, events, and promotions.
- Manage social media advertising budgets and optimize ad performance.
- Coordinate influencer partnerships and collaboration opportunities.
- Stay current with platform algorithm changes and social media best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of interviews, sources, and content rights.
- Ensure all content complies with journalistic ethics and editorial guidelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with IT, marketing, and product development teams to ensure seamless content delivery and strategic alignment.
- Collaborate with business development to identify new content opportunities and partnerships.
Required Qualifications, Experience & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in social media or digital marketing.
- Proven track record of successfully growing media audiences and engagement.
- Proficiency in social media tools, radio, or newsroom content systems.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in paid social media advertising.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills and a sound understanding of compliance requirements.
- Adaptability to the rapidly changing social media landscape.
