Job Objective
Reporting to the IT Manager, the role will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities
- Analyse complex administrative workflows to identify pain points and opportunities for automation and simplification.
- Develop user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints specific to the higher education context.
- Lead the end-to-end design process for multiple concurrent internal projects, from concept to final handoff.
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and design specifications using tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
- Establish and maintain a cohesive Design System (UI Kit, component library) to ensure consistency across all University internal applications.
- Design responsive interfaces that work seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Provide clear design handoffs and be available to developers during the build phase to ensure pixel-perfect implementation.
- Plan and facilitate usability testing sessions to validate design decisions.
- Analyse user feedback and system usage data to continuously iterate on and improve existing features post-launch.
- Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) to cater to a diverse user base.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor or as captured in your detailed job description.
Qualification and experience
- Bachelors degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably with experience in SaaS, Enterprise software (ERP/CRM), or EdTech.
- A strong portfolio is mandatory. We need to see proven experience designing complex web applications (dashboards, data tables, administrative portals).
- Proven experience working in an agile/scrum development environment
