Key Responsibilities
Automation Strategy & Framework Development
- Develop and refine scalable automation frameworks that support UI and API testing.
- Lead the creation of test suites using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and RestAssured.
- Define automation approaches for new features and integrations.

Quality Ownership & Test Management
- Establish and maintain QA standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
- Review and validate test plans, scripts, and automation work created by team members.
- Analyze results, investigate failures, and drive thorough defect resolution with engineering teams.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, product teams, DevOps, and analysts to build effective test strategies.
- Offer technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level QA staff.
- Take part in sprint ceremonies, planning sessions, and risk evaluation activities.
Manual Testing, API Validation & Data Checks
- Execute exploratory and manual tests for critical paths, complex workflows, and new features.
- Use SQL to validate backend logic, data accuracy, and system behaviours.
- Conduct extensive API functional, integration, and micro services-level testing.
CI/CD Integration & Test Infrastructure
- Manage test environments, curate test data, and monitor test executions within CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrate automation into tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI for continuous quality checks.
- Implement, track, and maintain test reporting dashboards (Allure, Extent Reports) to provide insight into product quality.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify gaps and lead initiatives that enhance automation performance, coverage, and stability.
- Research and introduce new tools, frameworks, or techniques to strengthen QA operations.
Educational Qualifications
- 9+ years’ of hands-on experience in automation testing, specifically with Java.
- Advanced knowledge of Selenium WebDriver, RestAssured and modern testing frameworks.
- Strong background using TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber or equivalent tools.
- Excellent manual testing skills and understanding of QA methodologies.
- Strong SQL experience with the ability to write complex queries.
- Experience with microservices-based systems and distributed architectures.
- Familiarity with Docker, Postman and reporting tools like Allure or Extent Reports.
- Practical experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitLab CI, plus Git version control.
- Exposure to security or performance testing would be beneficial
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead QA efforts, operate independently and support a high-performing engineering team.
