Senior .Net Developer NGO Job Rainforest Alliance
IT Jobs, Rainforest Alliance Jobs. Responsible for developing and maintaining .NET and C# applications, improving system performance and scalability, designing RESTful APIs and messaging systems, supporting Azure and DevOps pipelines, applying security standards, and using Docker and containerisation to improve application deployment. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least seven years’ .NET development experience. The position is based in Nairobi and offers a flexible hybrid work environment.
Positon Summary
- The Technology department is responsible for the Development, Realization and Implementation of the strategic Digital Product Roadmap for Rainforest Alliance (including all supporting Technology processes), for all Global Business Initiatives and Assurance programs.
- We are looking for an experienced Senior .NET Developer with deep expertise in .NET technologies and reasonable exposure to cloud services. You will develop and maintain our in-house products, optimizing application performance, and driving best practices in cloud infrastructure and security.
- You will report to the Senior Software Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the custom portal using .NET, C#.
- Optimize application performance and ensure scalability for a high-traffic environment.
- Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs and messaging systems for seamless data exchange.
- Work with Azure Container Apps and Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
- Ensure compliance with industry security standards.
- Some awareness of integrating Terraform into CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Work with Aspire, Docker and containerization to streamline application deployment.
- Develop automated testing and deployment strategies to enhance reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive architectural decisions and innovation.
- Work with decentralized teams across multiple locations and time zones.
- Work as a team player and influence System Design & Architecture
- Be part of a Product team and participating in refinements and sprint planning
- Align with the Architecture team, following best practices and techincal proficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science
- 7+ years of experience in .NET development with expertise in .NET and C#.
- Experience with RESTful API development and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Container Apps and DevOps pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL for data storage.
- Experience with security standards and best practices for application development.
- Practical knowledge of Docker and containerized application deployment.
- Familiarity with testing and deployment automation tools.
- Experience collaborating and working in decentralized teams.
