Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent the county government in civil and criminal litigation.
- Provide legal opinions and guidance to county departments.
- Draft, vet, and interpret contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure county policies and actions comply with national laws and the Constitution.
- Liaise with external legal stakeholders such as the Office of the Attorney General.
- Monitor legal risks and ensure their mitigation across departments.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of court documents.
- Guide the development and review of by-laws and county legislation.
