Duties and Responsibilities

• Represent the county government in civil and criminal litigation.
• Provide legal opinions and guidance to county departments.
• Draft, vet, and interpret contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure county policies and actions comply with national laws and the Constitution.
• Liaise with external legal stakeholders such as the Office of the Attorney General.
• Monitor legal risks and ensure their mitigation across departments.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of court documents.
• Guide the development and review of by-laws and county legislation.
