Responsible for managing library services, acquiring and organising library materials, cataloguing and classifying resources, assisting users with information searches, maintaining library records, supporting research and reading activities, and ensuring library resources are properly preserved and accessible. Requires a relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, Information Studies, or a related field. The position is based in Iten and requires on-site work.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of materials for binding; shelf arrangement, provision of Reference services to readers; filling of catalogue cards and press cutting; charging and discharging library materials.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an applicant MUST have: –

• Kenya certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of C or its equivalent qualification with at least C in mathematics, English or Kiswahili;
• Diploma in library studies or Information Science or their recognized equivalent qualification from recognized institution; and 
• Proficiency in Computer Application.
