Responsible for managing library services, acquiring and organising library materials, cataloguing and classifying resources, assisting users with information searches, maintaining library records, supporting research and reading activities, and ensuring library resources are properly preserved and accessible. Requires a relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, Information Studies, or a related field. The position is based in Iten and requires on-site work.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementation of documentation and library work programme in a departmental library /Information Centre, indexing and abstracting journal articles; operating current awareness services (CAS); editing of reports, newsletters and other publications and selection and purchasing of information and other research materials in consultation with professionals and researchers.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an applicant MUST have: –

• Bachelors’ degree in library studies or Information Science or equivalent qualification from recognized institution; and 
• Certificate in Computer Application.
