Laboratory Technician Job Westlands Specialist Hospital
Medical Jobs, Westlands Specialist Hospital Jobs. Responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, performing laboratory tests, maintaining and calibrating equipment, recording and reporting results, managing laboratory supplies, and following safety and quality standards. Requires a Diploma or Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences, valid KMLTTB registration and practising licence, and relevant laboratory experience. The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.
WSH Hospital is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to perform diagnostic tests and support quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, prepare, and analyse patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.)
- Perform routine and specialised laboratory tests accurately and within set timelines
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Record, verify, and report test results to relevant clinicians
- Maintain laboratory hygiene, safety, and infection control standards
- Manage stock levels of reagents and laboratory supplies
- Adhere to quality assurance and standard operating procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Valid KMLTTB registration/license
- Minimum 1-2 years’ relevant laboratory experience
- Good knowledge of laboratory safety and quality control practices
- Attention to detail, reliability, and strong communication skills
