The successful candidate will serve as the primary custodian of legal governance, oversee litigation and compliance frameworks, review contracts and sensitive communication, and manage Work Injury Benefits (WIBA) processes to ensure timely settlement and legal compliance.

  • Maintain and continuously update the Group Litigation Database.
  • Work closely with plant HR Managers to coordinate witnesses, documentation, and case preparation.
  • Liaise with external counsel to ensure timely and effective case management.
  • Represent the Company in Courts, Labour Offices, Tribunals, and other quasi-judicial bodies.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and certify legal documents including Contracts, NDAs/NCAs, SLAs, and other agreements.
  • Manage the Group’s injuries and WIBA database; ensure timely reporting and closure of cases with DOSHS.
  • Provide legal advisory support to HR on disciplinary, grievance, and other people-related processes.

Education

  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law – Advocates Training Programme (KSL)
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years post-admission experience in corporate legal practice, litigation, or in- house counsel roles.
  • Experience in compliance, contract drafting, WIBA processes, or manufacturing industry is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in Litigation & Dispute Resolution
  • Proficiency in Corporate & Commercial Law
  • Solid contract drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills
  • Experience in Conveyancing
  • Strong analytical, risk-mitigation, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication, advisory, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive matters with discretion
