ICT Manager Job. IT Jobs In Kenya

  • Responsible for overall Management, operations, and execution of IT strategy for the Organization. The holder of the role shall be reporting to the Head of ICT & Innovations.

  • The management of bank database and ensuring their security thereof.
  • Evaluate user’s needs and then scopes the system architecture, functionalities, and ensure that ICT facilitates acquisitions to meet business needs.
  • Plan, develop and implement the ICT budget, and obtain competitive prices from suppliers.
  • Schedule patches, upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.
  • Research and install new innovative systems to keep up to date with the changing technology.
  • BCP management for the bank and ensuring quarterly dry runs for the DR site.
  • Guarantee the smooth running of all ICT systems with an uptime of 99%.
  • Ensure that all ICT systems and governance frameworks follow internal policies and guidelines in line with best-in-class standards.
  • Manage secure access to the network for remote users, third parties and each time ensuring encryption, confidentiality and security of the databases.
  • Secure data from internal cyber and external cyber-attack through continuous security policies refinement in firewalls and other security systems.
  • Manage teams within ICT to offer appropriate helpdesk support and advice efficiency and monitor customer satisfaction.
  • Manage crisis situations which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems and give precise solutions.
  • Mentor and train ICT support staff to have a competent and motivated team.
  • Formulate ICT strategies, policies and plans.
  • Manage ICT risks and setting priorities between system developments, maintenance and operations.
  • SLA management with third parties.

Minimum level of academic qualification, skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science from a recognized institution. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Skills in SQL scripts and actively having worked with core banking system databases.
  • Certifications in SQL, CCNA, CCNP, Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2) will be and added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience required in a managerial role and ability to lead & manage a team.
  • Up to date ICT strategies and policies in place.
  • System Uptime.
  • Availability of Data security and backups.
  • Return on Investment in ICT investments.
  • Level of utilization of Key ICT resources and staff.
  • Cost efficiency and management on Investment in ICT.
