Health Records Officer Job Startup Lions
IT Jobs, Startup Lions Jobs. Responsible for registering patients, creating and maintaining outpatient records, filing and retrieving health records, maintaining dispensary registers, compiling routine health data, preparing reports, protecting patient confidentiality, and supporting audits and data quality activities. Requires a Diploma in Health Records and Information Management or a related field, with at least one year of experience. The position is based Lodwar and requires on-site work.
Key Responsibilities
Health Records Management
- Register patients and create, update, and maintain outpatient (OPD) records.
- Ensure proper filing, retrieval, and secure storage of patient records.
- Maintain dispensary service registers, including OPD, MCH, immunization, and referral registers.
Data & Reporting
- Compile and submit routine health data using approved Ministry of Health (MoH) reporting tools.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of records and reports.
Confidentiality & Compliance
- Uphold patient confidentiality and ethical handling of health information.
- Adhere to MoH policies, data protection requirements, and dispensary record-keeping guidelines.
Support Services
- Provide timely access to patient records to support clinical service delivery.
- Support routine supervision, audits, and data quality improvement activities at the dispensary.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Health Records and Information Management (HRIM) or a related field.
- Registration with the Health Records and Information Managers Board (HRIMB) (will be an added advantage).
- At least one (1) year experience in a primary healthcare or dispensary setting preferred.
