OVERVIEW:

  • The Head of Risk & Compliance has overall responsibility for the Risk & Compliance function.
  • The position is responsible for ensuring risk management, and compliance activities are closely aligned with regulatory requirements and global best practices in executing the duties across the Company’s business and financial operations.
  • The candidate works to ensure roles, responsibilities, and results are efficiently coordinated and optimised to ensure the effectiveness of risk management, and control matters.

  • Risk Management and Compliance
  • Annual review of the Company’s current Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Risk tolerance and appetite policies of the company.
  • Proactively inform senior management (TPS Group Executives and Country Managers) of significant risks or exposures related to internal controls, compliance, and/or
  • governance requiring prompt attention.
  • Monitor and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to BARC and implĂ©mentation of Risk
  • mitigation strategies.
  • Provide leadership in the development of the Risk management plans, update enterprise risk register and monitor its implementation
  • Ensure that company systems and business processes are regularly reviewed for compliance with the policies, procedures and standards
  • Review and issue risk reports to management and BARC arising from risk assessments, special investigation; and implement a system to track the implementation of risk
  • mitigation recommendations by the management
  • Provide summaries of organizational and operating environment risk trends to management regularly and advise management of the formulation of risk management
  • strategies and relevant policies
  • Contribute to the maintenance of effective internal control systems in the entire TPS by ensuring that risk identification is embedded in the routine operating procedures of the organization.
  • Provide leadership in the process of development and implementation of systems, policies and procedures for the identification, collection and analysis of risk related information.
  • Create professional linkages and networks with regulatory bodies in countries to enhance capacities that will improve and reduce compliance risks of the organization.
  • Engage with the TPS Board Audit and Risk Committee; and ensure that the Board is always apprised of prevailing enterprise risks for effective decision making
  • Maintain the whistleblowing channels of the Company and provide periodic reports to the BARC
  • Make recommendations for Policy amendements based on emerging issues/risks.

Know-How

  • Technical Knowledge : Demonstrates comprehensive understanding and proficiency in risk management and compliance frameworks, industry regulations, and relevant technology platforms.
  • Management Skills : Proven track record in strategic planning, project management, and effective team leadership, fostering a culture of compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Human Relations Skills: Exceptional ability to cultivate positive relationships, negotiate effectively, and communicate seamlessly across diverse stakeholders in a multi cultural environnent.
  • Specialized Knowledge : Expertise in risk assessment methodologies, compliance standards, nand a deep understanding of industry-specific regulations. Familiarity with operations of bhospitality industry is highly advantageous.
  • Education : Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Management, Bachelor of commerce, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related field from a recognized university. Master degree will be an added advantage
  • Experience : Minimum of 8 years of experience with 4years MUST have been in a managĂ©rial/leadership role in a dynamic risk and compliance environnent, preferably in the hospitality, consulting (Big-4) or banking industry

Certifications in any of the following.

  • Chartered Risk and Compliance Analyst (CRA/CCA)
  • Risk Management Assurance (CRMA)
  • Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Professional Risk Manager (PRM)
