Full-Stack Web Developer Job (40-45K)

Looking for an IT job in Kenya? Corporate Staffing Services is recruiting a Full-Stack Web Developer position for a training and consultancy institution. The salary for the role is Ksh 40,000 – 45,000 monthly. The job is based in Nairobi. Proficiency in front-end and back-end development, database design, and API integration is required.

Our client is a continental leadership, training, consultancy and digital solutions institution working with professionals and organisations across Africa. They are looking to hire a Full-Stack Web Developer / Software Solutions Developer will be responsible for developing, improving and maintaining web-based platforms that support organisational performance, monitoring and evaluation, learning management, data management, reporting, dashboards, workflow automation and institutional decision-making.

The role requires someone who can translate business ideas and user needs into functional software systems that are simple, secure, attractive and useful to clients.

The ideal candidate should not only know how to code, but should also understand how software solves real organisational problems.

Key Responsibilities

Web Application Development

Design, develop and improve responsive web-based software platforms, dashboards and digital tools that support the institute, consultancy and software products.

Front-End Development

Build clean, user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces that make complex data, reports, workflows and dashboards easy for users to understand and navigate.

Back-End Development

Develop secure back-end systems, databases, APIs, user roles, authentication, business logic and data processing features that support reliable software performance.

Dashboard and Reporting Features

Develop interactive dashboards, visual reports, charts, indicators, filters and exportable reports that help clients track performance and make evidence-based decisions.

System Improvement and Maintenance

Maintain, troubleshoot, update and improve existing systems to enhance speed, usability, reliability, security and user experience.

Database Design and Management

Design and manage databases that store, organise and retrieve institutional data accurately, securely and efficiently.

Client Needs Translation

Work with internal teams to understand client needs and translate those needs into clear technical features, user flows, modules and system improvements.

Testing and Quality Assurance

Test systems thoroughly to identify bugs, improve usability, validate features and ensure that software works properly before deployment.

Deployment and Technical Support

Support system deployment, hosting, updates, backups, user onboarding and technical troubleshooting for clients and internal users.

Innovation and Product Growth

Contribute ideas on how the institute, digital solutions can become more powerful, scalable, user-friendly, AI-enabled and commercially attractive.

Qualifications and Competencies

• A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Web Development, Data Systems or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience developing web-based applications, dashboards, portals, management information systems, SaaS platforms or institutional digital solutions.
• Strong practical skills in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular or similar tools.
• Strong practical skills in back-end development using technologies such as Node.js, PHP, Python, Laravel, Django, Express, Java, .NET or similar frameworks.
• Good understanding of database design and management using MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Firebase or similar database systems.
• Ability to develop dashboards, reports, charts, data tables, filters, export functions and analytics features for institutional users.
• Understanding of APIs, system integrations, authentication, user roles, access control, data security and software performance optimisation.
• Experience working with cloud hosting, deployment, version control, Git/GitHub, backups, testing environments and basic DevOps processes.
• Good understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design and how to make systems simple and practical for non-technical users.
• Ability to document system features, development progress, technical decisions and user guidance clearly.
• Experience with AI integrations, automation tools, reporting engines, learning platforms, M&E systems, ERP systems or CRM systems will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work with product, sales, training and consultancy teams to convert institutional needs into useful software features.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, creativity, discipline and ability to deliver tasks within agreed timelines.
• High levels of professionalism, confidentiality and commitment to building secure, reliable and client-ready systems.
