  • The Food safety and Hygiene officer plays a key role in identifying key areas of risk and gaps in branch operations for timely actions to drive continual improvement efforts in product quality, safety, process performance and optimization.
  • He /She oversees and implements effective food safety and hygiene measures to ensure food is prepared in a safe and hygienic manner.
  • He/ She is responsible for implementing food safety systems ,monitoring compliance and training to ensure food handlers are aware of their food safety and hygiene responsibilities at their functional level.
  • The role requires excellent analytical and communication skills, ability to identify gaps in the process, a proactive and result oriented person who keeps abreast with current developments in food science, safety and quality related matters.

Job specifications:

  • Food science based degree or Diploma from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • 2 years working in a QA/Food Safety related position in a FMCG environment.
  • Computer literate.
  • Qualification or experience in ISO 22000/HACCP is an added advantage.
  • Excellent team player, pro-active, result-orientated, creative, reliable, and flexible with problem solving skills.

Special Conditions for employment

  • Driver’s License preferred.
  • Must live in Kisumu.
