OUR CLIENT is a non-profit organization that works with disadvantaged students and communities in Kenya to improve their social and economic welfare through locally existing interventions aimed at reducing poverty and improving their quality of life.
Reporting To – President.
Direct Reports – Deputy Directors (Programs, Finance & Administration).
Job Location – Nairobi, with 25% travel to field projects.
Contract terms & conditions – Full-time, KES. 275,000/-, 4-day work week, Pension, among others
Role’s Overall Objectives
- Oversee strategic organization initiatives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of senior leadership and in collaboration with department heads
- Collaborate with upper-level management in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
- liaison between Kenyan staff and international staff/senior leaders, and the President regarding the organizational climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning
- Review, design, & execute improvements to organizational structure; knowledge & skills gaps, and address them
- Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications between the organization and external stakeholders
- Improve current processes and optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity
- Maintain a climate that attracts and retains a talented and diverse staff
- Create and maintain relationships with individuals and organizations to facilitate the success of the organization’s financial future
- Ensure financial documentation, transparency, and adherence to utmost care in handling of funds
- Oversee resource mobilization through local and global networks
- Oversee the overall general administration of the organization
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in Humanitarian or Development organizations, 3 of which should be at a Program/Project Manager Level.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related Course. A Master’s Degree or Post Graduate Course in Project Management will be an added advantage
- Experience using virtual collaborative and Project Management tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, Asana, and video virtual tools
- Experience managing donor grants and reporting
- Integrity & Transparency: Adherence to strict “Zero Tolerance” policies regarding fraud and corruption.
