Job Title: Employee Experience Lead
Department: People and Culture
Reports to: Manager, Talent Strategy
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Role Purpose:

Under the general direction and guidance of the Manager -Talent Strategy, the employee experience lead plays will play an essential role in developing, coordinating, and implementing employee engagement strategies and initiatives that align with our company’s values, culture, and aspirations. Th role will drive to promote a positive work culture, enhance employee morale, and create a workplace that employees love.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Develop short-term and mid-term plans for Employee Engagement and Culture. Design innovative processes, programs, and experiences to support the enhancing of our Employees’ Experience to deepen their sense of belonging linked to the talent strategy.
  • Executes strategic initiatives, programs, and processes related to Employee Value Proposition, Culture and Employee Engagement.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to diversify talent pipelines and collaborates with external partners as necessary to strengthen talent pools.
  • Leads the end-to-end execution of our employee experience strategy that positively reflects the changing nature of work, evolving employee needs/wants to better support business outcomes and our employees.
  • Develop and build branding programs in support of employer branding strategy driving towards recognition as Great Place to Work and employer of choice.
  • Develops and builds programs that create a common language around the Magenta Way and facilitates dialogue amongst leaders along with the employee population while creating exceptional experiences.
  • As a partner to leaders and human resources provides consultation and coaching to leaders and HRBPs in support of embedding the necessary behaviors to ensure our goals are achieved.
  • Provides specific, practical, and actionable tools and resources for leaders and HRBPs to help create inclusion conversations across Jambojet, at all levels of the organization while reinforcing our Magenta way Culture.
  • Conducts ongoing research on best practices and recommends strategies for continuous improvement to increase the maturity level in support of our organization’s employee experience journey.
  • Assists in implementing change management processes and tools to support the adoption of the changes required to drive meaningful cultural shifts within the organization.
  • Creates and implements communication strategies and campaigns to support HR initiatives
  • Collaborating with different departments to collect data and analyse on employee satisfaction and working experiences.
  • Create an annual calendar of events to create clarity and engagement.
  • Utilizing analytics to measure the impact of culture initiatives and making continuous improvement.
  • Organizing engaging company-wide events and team-building activities.
  • Support additional People processes as needed, such as recruitment administration and HR reporting

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of employee engagement practices
  • Management Skills: Ability to drive initiatives by influencing across Jambojet.Human
  • Relations Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with all organizational levels
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with the aviation industry and specific uunderstanding of key talent management processes

      • Thinking Environment: Operate in a dynamic aviation industry where regulations, technologies, and global factors influence the employee experience.
      • Thinking Challenge: Must identify and address diverse engagement needs and develop programs that are custom fit for Jambojet.

      • Freedom to Act: Autonomous in making decisions regarding the employee strategy and initiatives development programs, while staying aligned with Jambojet’s goals.
      • Magnitude: Overseeing the employee experience function, influencing the identification, retention and engagement of all Jambojet employees.
      • Impact of Decisions: Decisions directly influence the productivity of Jambojet staff, thus impacting overall organizational performance.

      Qualifications:

      • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Design, HR, or a related field from a recognized university.
      • Experience: 5 years experience covering all aspects of the HR discipline, with strong understanding of employee engagement practices
      • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications. Membership to professional bodies is an added advantage.
