The aim of the Ajira Digital Phase 2 program is to improve the livelihoods for young women and men, including persons with disabilities and refugees, through inclusive digital skills and employment, contributing to equitable growth and social transformation across the ASALs, rural and other marginalized communities.

Job Purpose
The Ajira Digital Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality inclusive training to young people across the region, ensuring effective knowledge transfer, learner engagement, and transition to digital work. TThe role focuses on supporting young women, persons with disabilities, refugees, and ASAL and rural youth, adapting training methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
Training Planning and Delivery
- Master the Ajira Digital content and curriculum and plan lessons for diverse youth.
- Deliver learning content across TVETs, Universities, Ajira Clubs, and Ajira Centres.
- Set up and deliver quality sessions, adapting methods to audience needs.
- Develop relatable examples and case studies to enhance learning.
- Ensure training methods are accessible and engaging for women, PWDs, refugees, and ASAL youth.
Mobilization and Training Targets and Reporting
- Mobilization & Outreach: Recruit and Train 200 young women monthly including 20 persons with disabilities and refugees, and young people from ASAL and rural communities, for Ajira Trainings and mentorship through Collaborators, Institutions or Virtual Training Channels.
- Organize and deliver at least 4 physical trainings monthly.
- Conduct outreach and document participation of refugees and ASAL youth; maintain records where populations are not locally present.
- Deliver quality virtual trainings with at least an 80% completion rate.
- Provide daily reports including participant data (gender, disability, refugee, ASAL), venue, photos, and testimonials.
Mentorship and Club Support
- Mentor and support youth in the community and Ajira Clubs, both virtually and physically.
- Champion online work and youth empowerment.
- Assist in institutionalizing Ajira Digital Clubs and support youth in opening online work accounts.
- Provide additional support to women, PWDs, refugees, and ASAL youth who face barriers.
Learner Assessment and Support
- Assess learner ability levels and oversee practical activities related to online work.
- Provide detailed guidance and respond to learners’ queries.
- Adapt course material to meet diverse learner needs, including those with disabilities or limited prior tech exposure.
Community Engagement and Mobilization
- Engage institutions and communities to attract youth to free trainings.
- Work with women’s groups, disability organizations, refugee-led networks, and ASAL-focused community groups.
- Collect success stories and actively share on social media.
- Highlight achievements of women, PWDs, refugees, and ASAL youth.
Professional Development
- Continuously update ICT and digital skills knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.
- General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other teams to align activities with program objectives.
- Perform duties diligently and in the best interest of the program.
- Uphold company policies and maintain good relations with local authorities and community members.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, ICT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience delivering digital skills training or youth development programs.
- Experience mentoring and training young women, persons with disabilities, refugees, or ASAL and rural youth is an advantage.
- Competence in both physical and virtual training delivery is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication, facilitation, and mentorship skills.
- Ability to deliver training to diverse learners, including those with disabilities or limited prior exposure.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and reporting skills.
- Familiarity with monitoring participation and reporting disaggregated data.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
