Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Quality Analyst to join our team. This role will be responsible for validating data accuracy, testing APIs, and ensuring the quality and reliability of data-related systems and processes. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of QA fundamentals, strong analytical skills, and a passion for identifying issues before they impact customers or business operations.
Responsibilities
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and data validation testing.
- Validate and analyze large datasets to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Test APIs and verify data exchanged between systems.
- Create, execute, and document test cases, test plans, and test results.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Support UAT efforts and help validate business requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis for data quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, and quality practices.
Key Competencies
- Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, testing principles, and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Clear understanding of different testing types, including regression testing, UAT, functional testing, and integration testing.
- Experience working with and validating large datasets.
- Basic understanding of SQL and the ability to query data for validation purposes.
- Experience testing and validating APIs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience writing and executing SQL queries.
- Experience using API testing tools such as Postman or similar platforms.
- Experience writing Python scripts for test automation, validation, or data analysis.
- Exposure to test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience with data warehouse, ETL, or data pipeline testing.
