Data Analyst – Operations (Modern Trade) at Hotpoint Appliances Analyzes retail sales and operational data to optimize inventory and supply chain performance. Requires Analytics/Business degree, Excel/SQL skills, and 2 years’ Modern Trade experience. Full-time.

Job Purpose

• This role in supports the department by turning data into useful insights, coordinating daily operations, and tracking performance. It helps ensure smooth field and office collaboration, accurate reporting, and efficient execution of trade activities. The analyst’s work supports better decision making and continuous improvement in sales operations.

Roles and responsibilities 

• Attendance Monitoring: Track and report attendance of Trade Developers in stores, ensuring punctuality and accountability.
• Leave Management: Handle leave applications for TradeDevelopers and ensure operations are not disrupted.
• Field Support: Respond to Trade Developers’ requests and relay important updates from
• head office.
• App Usage: Ensure full adoption and proper use of the Sales Force App for attendance, stock tracking, and reporting.
• Fare Requests: Prepare fare requisitions for field teams conducting stock takes.
• Promotion Communication: Share promotion details, product prices, and dealer updates to ensure correct implementation and margin compliance.
• Credit Notes: Prepare credit note summaries for promotions or price changes and share with dealers for timely reimbursement.
• Goods Return(GRN): Process GRNs for faulty, missing, or returned goods and ensure quick resolution.
• SKU Updates: Keep the Modern Trade App updated with all new products and SKUs for accurate tracking.
• Back-Office Coordination: Support the sales team by following up on dealer orders and coordinating with invoicing, service, and warehouse teams.
• Stock Takes: Oversee monthly stock counts for sell-out accounts and prepare reconciliation reports to highlight discrepancies.
• Returns Analysis: Review GRN data to identify return trends and suggest actions to reduce them.
• Performance Reports: Track performance of Trade Developers and share monthly reports with management.
• Incentive Reports: Prepare and validate monthly incentive reports to ensure fairness and accuracy.
• Inventory Reports: Use data from the Funnet App to analyze stock levels, sales trends, and market share performance.
• Ad Hoc Reports: Prepare additional reports as needed to support business reviews and decision-making.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Superior

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Two years experience in data analysis, sales operations, or modern trade (preferably in consumer electronics or retail).
• Experience in data reporting, operational coordination, and working with field teams.
• Added advantage: Familiarity with ERP systems and data collection tools used in retail.

Key Skills: 

• Excel Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and dashboards).
• Operational Coordination: Skilled in managing multiple operational tasks efficiently.
• Accuracy: Strong attention to detail in data entry, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills; able to work with different teams.
• Process Improvement: Ability to simplify and automate reporting or routine tasks.
• Time Management: Able to handle tight deadlines and prioritize work effectively
