Crane Operator (Mariakani) Job.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate the overhead cranes to move coils, materials, and equipment as directed as per standard & safety operating procedures
- Perform daily pre-operational checks and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Coordinate with ground personnel for safe lifting, loading, and unloading operations.
- Ensure correct slinging techniques and load balance before lifting.
- Adhere to safety procedures, load limits, and plant operating guidelines.
- Maintain clear communication via radio or signals with team members.
- Document crane usage, movements, and any incidents in the logbook.
- Participate in routine maintenance and inspections when required.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of crane systems under supervision.
- Assist 6S (cleanliness and orderliness) for crane cab and operating area.
- Attend to any other duty as assigned by the shift Engineer.
Requirements
Qualifications and experience required:
- KCSE Certificate
- Certificate in Plant Equipment Operation or Trade Test
- Licence in overhead Creane Operations
- At least 1 year experience operating overhead remote controlled cranes
- Training in safe operation of overhead cranes is an added advantage
