Job Purpose

To plan, develop, direct and disseminate communications across all channels and audiences for the group; to manage and provide client-side direction to the group’s communications agencies; to own the digital and social media presence of the group’s operating companies; and to support the planning and execution of corporate events while ensuring consistency of voice, quality of output, narrative coherence, and timeliness of delivery across the group.

  • Communications planning: Develop and maintain a rolling communications calendar across the group, aligned to operational milestones and stakeholder priorities.
  • Agency and media management: Brief, direct and quality-assure the group’s local and international PR agencies, in close coordination with the Group Corporate Affairs & Brand Lead (GCABL); manage scope, timelines and narrative alignment; oversee media lists, interview logistics, support spokesperson preparation, coverage tracking and real-time media response.
  • Content development and review: Coordinate with local agency to draft, edit and finalize press releases, statements, op-eds, position papers, briefing notes, FAQs and reactive lines, ensuring brand consistency and quality.
  • Internal communications: Design and roll out internal communications mechanisms across the group; cascade leadership messages; build consistency of internal narrative across operating companies.
  • Digital, social media and websites: Manage all corporate digital and social media channels and company websites across the group, including content, community management, monitoring, analytics, and currency of corporate information.
  • Events management: Support planning, budget and execute corporate events end-to-end, including stakeholder ceremonies, media briefings, forums and internal events.
  • Brand consistency, crisis support and reporting: Apply and protect brand standards across all outputs; provide drafting, monitoring and agency-coordination support during crisis or issues management under GCABL direction; produce monthly communications, agency-performance and digital performance reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations or integrated communications
  • Demonstrated experience managing communications and PR agencies as a client-side counterpart, including briefing, scope management, quality control and performance oversight.
  • Demonstrated experience managing digital and social media for a corporate brand, including platform analytics and reputation monitoring.
  • Hands-on event management experience, including high-profile corporate or government-facing events.
  • Experience working with both local and international PR agencies is required.
