Chief Accountant Job FourSum (130K)

Looking for an accounting job in Kenya? FourSum is recruiting a Chief Accountant position. The salary for the role is Ksh 130,000 monthly. Proficiency in financial reporting, statutory compliance, and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) is required.

We are seeking to recruit a highly experienced, detail-oriented, and results-driven Chief Accountant to oversee the organization’s accounting operations. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the finance team, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls, and support strategic business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, journals, and financial schedules.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Monitor cash flow, banking operations, receivables, and payables.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF, withholding tax, and other regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve financial processes.
• Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to management.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to enhance performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional qualification in CPA(K), ACCA, or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, and audit management.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
• Good understanding of IFRS, taxation, and financial management principles.
