Chef De Partie Job

Our client, based in Nairobi, is looking to fill the above position to manage and oversee all the duties in the kitchen, maintain food standards, and ensure the timely delivery of consistent, high-quality food and beverages.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality standards of food products.
  • Instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
  • Ensure established standards of performance are maintained and targets achieved.
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure the timely delivery of services.
  • Ensure high levels of hygiene and Food safety standards are maintained.
  • Order or requisition food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.
  • Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items based on food cost.
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
  • Ensure we have a well-trained and efficient kitchen team.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance.
  • Meet with customers and F&B supervisors to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Food Production.
  • Must have similar experience of over 4 years.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift.
  • Must be flexible with shift times and place of work.
  • Outstanding communication, supervisory, training, and coaching skills.
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
