The aim of the Ajira Digital Phase 2 program is to improve the livelihoods for young women and men, including persons with disabilities and refugees, through inclusive digital skills and employment, contributing to equitable growth and social transformation across the ASALs, rural and other marginalized communities.

The Center Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Ajira Youth Empowerment Centre (AYEC), ensuring effective community mobilization, training delivery, and transition of young people into digital work. The role is accountable for achieving monthly training targets with a focus on young women, persons with disabilities, refugees, and youth from ASAL and rural communities.

Mobilization and Outreach

  • Mobilization & Outreach: Recruit 200 young women monthly including 20 persons with disabilities and refugees, and young people from ASAL and rural communities, for Ajira Trainings and mentorship through the Ajira Youth Empowerment Centers (AYECs), Collaborators, Institutions or Virtual Training Channels.
  • Conduct outreach to refugees and ASAL-origin youth, maintaining records and referrals where populations are not locally present.
  • Lead weekly community pitches to market center activities, events, and upcoming trainings.
  • Maintain a database of interested youth and build relationships with women’s groups, disability organizations, refugee-led networks, and ASAL-focused community groups.

Training Coordination

  • Organize and coordinate at least 4 physical trainings monthly, with at least 2 AYEC Incubation Trainings monthly and the remaining one’s from Collaborators and Institutions in your Community.
  • Coordinate training schedules with Trainers and manage logistics for all trainings and community activities.
  • Supervise Trainers on training data collection, attendance, and certificate issuance.
  • Ensure training environments and materials are inclusive and accessible to PWDs.

Mentorship and Online Work Support

  • Mentor and support youth to benefit from the program.
  • Support at least 100 trained youth monthly to start earning from digital or digitally-enabled work.
  • Provide monthly reports on youth earnings.
  • Champion online work and youth empowerment for program sustainability.

Center Operations

  • Ensure timely opening and closing of the Center.
  • Track daily walk-ins including trainees, mentees, and online workers.
  • Safeguard and maintain Center infrastructure, equipment, and resources.
  • Manage activities within the provided budget.

Events and Community Engagement

  • Organize monthly women’s events and other extracurricular activities.
  • Coordinate success stories and support social media engagement.
  • Oversee capturing photos and videos of sessions.
  • Promote program values in all Center and community activities.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Data Management

  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on trainings, activities, events, and incidents.
  • Track attendance and maintain participant data disaggregated by gender, disability status, refugee status, and ASAL origin.
  • Document success stories, highlighting women, PWDs, refugees, and ASAL youth.
  • Submit quarterly summaries on refugee and ASAL youth engagement, partnerships, reach, referrals, and recommendations.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

  • Oversee Quality Assurance of all program activities.
  • Evaluate Center performance against inclusion and training targets.
  • Gather feedback from women, PWDs, refugees, and ASAL youth to inform improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, Trainers, and management.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform duties diligently and professionally in alignment with Ajira Digital Program objectives.
  • Undertake other duties within the scope of skills and experience as assigned.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration, IT, Project Management, or related discipline).
  • 3–5 years’ experience managing youth programs or community centers
  • Experience supervising teams and working with diverse communities (young women, Persons with Disabilities, refugees, ASAL youth).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and mentorship skills.
  • Ability to deliver training to diverse learners, including those with disabilities or limited prior exposure.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with monitoring participation and reporting disaggregated data.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
