BDE, Bancassurance Channel (Retail) Job Liberty Life, Nairobi, Kenya
Job Summary
The role holder will be responsible for driving the growth of retail life insurance business through the bancassurance channel by developing strong relationships with bank partners, supporting branch teams, generating quality business and ensuring the achievement of premium production targets and case count.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive retail life insurance sales through assigned bank branches, achieving monthly, quarterly and annual premium and policy issuance targets.
- Identify sales opportunities within the bank’s customer base, conduct financial needs analysis and recommend appropriate life insurance solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with branch managers, relationship managers, personal bankers and other key stakeholders to drive bancassurance growth.
- Develop and execute branch-specific sales plans, manage referral pipelines and analyse branch performance to improve productivity and conversion rates.
- Train, coach and support bank staff on insurance products, sales techniques, underwriting requirements and regulatory updates to enhance sales effectiveness.
- Manage the end-to-end customer journey, including quotations, onboarding, underwriting, policy issuance, renewals, retention and complaint resolution while ensuring excellent customer service.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and performance reports, maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with IRA regulations, AML, KYC, data protection and internal bancassurance policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Marketing or other business-related discipline
- Progress towards Diploma in Insurance (ACII or AIIK), (at least 3 papers or equivalent)
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in life insurance sales in bancassurance channel and relationship management
Competencies
- Strong sales and business development skills.
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Sound understanding of life insurance products and bancassurance operations.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to train and motivate bank staff to achieve insurance targets.
- Analytical and reporting skills.
- Customer-centric mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office application
