App Support Analyst, Payments Job Standard Bank, Nairobi, Kenya
Job Description
Lead the support, administration, and maintenance of card issuing and acquiring systems, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and compliance of payment card platforms. Support the operational delivery of digital payment channels including ATM, POS, agency banking, merchant services, e-commerce, QR, and mobile wallets. Manage system upgrades, integrations, and product implementations whilst collaborating with business, technology, vendors, risk, and operations teams to deliver stable, customer-focused digital channel services.
The role will provide technical leadership and coaching to junior specialists and application support teams, guiding them in incident resolution, root cause analysis, operational best practice, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Field of Study: First Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Preferred Certifications – ITIL, PCI DSS, ISO 27001 or payment industry certifications are desirable (VISA and Mastercard).
- CISSP and CISM (added advantage).
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience supporting card issuing and/or acquiring systems in a banking or payment services environment
- Demonstrated experience with card management systems, payment switches, or payment processing platforms – Strong understanding of card payment processing and transaction flows
- Proficiency with SQL databases and the ability to write queries for troubleshooting and reporting – Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments
- Familiarity with APIs, web services, and system integration technologies
- Banking or payment services experience: Industry certifications such as ITIL, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, or payment industry certifications (VISA and Mastercard)
