Logistics Jobs, Kuehne + Nagel Jobs. Air Logistics Perishable Operational Care Specialist coordinates air freight forwarding and handles perishable cargo operations, requires a Clearing & Forwarding Diploma and 2+ years logistics experience. Full-time role in Nairobi.

Responsibilities

• Cutting MAWBS (Master airway bills)
• Following up on timely handover of breakdowns at the set times during the day.
• Making sure that all documents are correct.
• Tallying of documents with their respective weight dockets and attaching them to folders and reporting any disparities to the immediate supervisor quick follow up.
• Making sure that all documents are in their correct folders for processing and e-filing and to carry out accurate e-filing.
• Making sure that all shipments have HAWBs (House Air waybill) and Processing of MAWBS (Master Air waybill) / in Salog.
• Making sure that all HAWBs (House Air waybill) are linked to the MAWBS (Master Air waybill).
• Making sure that the MAWB (Master Air waybill) is closed before cut off time.
• Making sure that the documents are dispatched and that all the physically documents make it to the flight.
• Responsible for being the contact person for the airline and handling any issues/phone calls in the flight allocated during the shift.
• Manage operational tasks through Business Process Automation tools (BPA) and all related features.
• Ensuring correct tariffs are captured on Air waybills including traffic codes.
• Typing / filling Eur1 forms, Generalized System of Preferences (GSPs) and Certificate of Origins.
• Scanning of all necessary documents.
• Securing phytosanitary certificates from KEPHIS (Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service) shippers for shippers who have agreement with Kuehne+Nagel to get phytosanitary certificates on their behalf.
• To review and ensure alignment of shipping instructions including to clarify any deviations/conflicts in contradiction to country regulations, export compliance and rate and routing information.
• To immediately report problems, operational disputes or discrepancies to supervisors, managers, divisional managers or branch managers
• Preparing of document handling reports and sending them to KN AMS (Amsterdam) & Clients who require them.
• Ensuring that cargo is handed over to the correct handling agent with complete documentation.
• Ensuring that all Kaplog tasks related to the above activities are completed at the end of the shift.
• To work with Sales and Customer Care teams on account implementation, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to operations.

Qualifications

Hard Skills:

• Fluent in English & Kiswahili language
• Diploma in clearing and forwarding or related studies
• Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the Clearing & Forwarding/Logistics industry
• Computer skills
• Good knowledge of Airfreight & Logistics Industry
• Professional Certification in Customs & Freight Logistics Course
• Operational Systems & Automation-Experienced in using Salog, Kaplog, and Business Process Automation (BPA) tools to manage shipment workflows, reporting, and document dispatch.                                 

Soft Skills

• Detail-Oriented & Quality-Focused- Meticulous in reviewing documentation for accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring all physical and digital records are complete and correctly filed.
• Effective Communication & Coordination- Acts as a reliable point of contact for airlines and internal teams, handling calls, resolving issues, and facilitating smooth handovers and account transitions.
• Time Management & Accountability- Consistently meets operational deadlines and follows work instructions whilst ensuring all tasks are completed before shift end with full documentation application.
