I Sent 20 Emails Daily Before Landing My Dream Job One Year Later
There is an old saying that a great website that is not promoted is like a billboard stored in your basement. This relates to having a strong LinkedIn profile but you are not visible.
LinkedIn is the world’s number one professional networking site for job seekers to connect with potential employers and for recruiters to search for the best talents and post the jobs.
For Judy Mukiri Francis, she learned about CSS on LinkedIn where we had posted the role of Product Controller

for our client Famous Brand and after sending application, she was considered.
Here is her story and a few tips you can pick.

How long had you been looking for a job?
It took me one year to find my dream job.
What has your job search experience been like?
It was futile and full of disappointment, especially having lost a job when the pandemic hit. It was not a walk in the park but I was well prepared, I had a professional CV, relevant skills, and determination.
Are there any specific challenges you encountered in your job search process?
I used to send 20 emails a day, but most of them went unanswered, and I received numerous regrets emails.
Where did you hear about Corporate Staffing and the job opportunity?
I learnt about CSS through LinkedIn and I would highly recommend any one looking for a job because they are professional in their processes.
How were the application and interview process?
The competition was stiff because many candidates were competing for one role but again smooth and genuine.
Did you think you would get the job?
Well, just like nobody knows if the response would be yes or no, I was not sure if I would get but the process was transparent though at some point I almost gave up.
What do you think employers look for or check when selecting suitable candidates?
Employers experienced a challenge when selecting the best, especially when the skilled, experienced, and talented candidates are saturated in the job market. Apart from the experience, and skills, employers look for confidence in the candidates.
Many professionals continue to look for jobs during this tough time. What is your advice to them?
Be confident to prove to the employer that you are right for the role. Gather relevant experience, be equipped with essential skills, and expand your industry knowledge and you will stand out in a pool of many applicants.
