How Subscribing To CSS Job Alerts Was The Best Decision I Ever Made

Are you frustrated by the lack of feedback from applications you have made in the past?

As a job seeker, this can be quite tough, especially when you don’t know where the problem is.

Japheth Mwangi has been subscribed to CSS job alerts for over two years. When he lost his job sometime last year, the emails he would receive came in handy.

He saw this sales job we advertised for our client Betatrad and applied.

Despite going through many challenges in his previous job applications, he still decided to give this a try.

Here is his story:

Tell us about yourself.

I am a highly motivated person, creative and versatile. I am always ready to build an effective and productive working relationship with the staff and client.

I like challenges that allow me to always keep learning because the world is constantly evolving.

How long had you been looking for a job?

I had been looking for a job for about 6 months.

There had been an incident in the factory where I was working. Then COVID happened soon after and we were all laid off.

What has your job search experience been like?

It was tough. You know I lost my job during this pandemic period. So even getting a new job when the economy is unstable was hard.

There were times I was called for interviews, was even successful, but the companies could not immediately take me on because of the uncertainties that have come with the pandemic.

Where did you hear about Corporate Staffing and the job opportunity?

I knew about Corporate Staffing in 2010 when I started applying for jobs.

I am also a subscriber to Corporate Staffing emails and I would receive new job notifications through email. That is how I saw this particular job opportunity.

How was the application and interview process?

The application process was okay. The interview process was also very professional. I was contacted for the first interview and after that, I was given feedback that I would be recommended to the client. I appreciated the communication at every stage.

After the interview, did you think you would get the job?

Because of how the interviewer responded, I knew I stood a higher chance of getting the job. The interview was very interactive and that was a plus.

Many professionals continue to apply for jobs during this tough time. What is your advice to them?

What I have come to realize is that there are very many learned people out there, but not all of them are informed especially about how to conduct themselves during interviews.

So, subscribe to Corporate Staffing newsletter and get informed about jobs and educated on the tips you need. This has really helped me in being prepared for the job market.

Also, if you can, try and take up any of the coaching services offered because of the value it gives you in the end.
